The surface of the heating cable must not exceed the maximum temperature of the constructional materials or the Temperature Classification if installed in a hazardous area. This is ensured by limiting the pipe or workpiece temperature to a safe level either by design calculation or by means of temperatue control devices.

| MicroTracer (EMTF) is a constant wattage cable that can be used for freeze protection and temperature maintainance of pipework and vessels. It has a maximum temperature of 200°C (392°F).
MicroTracer (EMTF) is particularly suited to refrigeration applications, small bore instrument lines or process pipework located in non-hazardous areas.
MicroTracer (EMTF) can be cut-to-length at site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
MicroTracer (EMTF) is has a fluoropolymer outer jacket (EMTF-CF) and so offers excellent corrosion resistant properties.
